so my hubby ran across this poster today. looking forward to working with the dancers next week. i'm gonna have to get alot done in a short amount of time. i like working under pressure. (only slight sarcasm intended)
in other news, my hubby also had a briefing today about THE MOVE...... well, apparently we have to fly out of baltimore/dc, because that's where tech school is...... which is a nice 1000 miles away from home. & of course the AF won't pay for our travel between tech school & the flight to guam. & we're trying to figure out when/ if to ship the car - our only means of transportation besides j's old bmx bike, which would make for a funny couple of weeks. should we just try to sell the car & hope to buy one there? figuring out how to get home after his graduation, then back to baltimore/dc, how many days of leave should we take, when do the movers come, blah blah blah.
it's crazy amounts of planning. i told j tonight that "this will be the mother of all moves"- our first pcs, overseas, & from tech school (orders coming a mere month - if we're lucky- ahead of time) so the remedy for this overwhelming move is lists, wine, long baths, more lists, more wine & trust that many have been through this before & no matter what, we will get over there.

Hi Amy-I am so glad you found my blog too! When we found out in May that we were moving to Guam,I only found one blog (I've found several others since then). I hope you enjoy it here- enjoy your time in the States- shop at all your favorite stores and go eat at all your favorite restaurants before you head here! It's not bad, just not quite the same...
Anyway, I would recommend shipping your car (if you haven't already made a decision). We bought a Guam Bomb, but looked into new cars and they are quite expensive because you have to pay an additional $2000 shipping fee. We shipped our car about 6 days before we left for Guam (rented a car in the mean time) and our car was delivered 3 weeks after we arrived, but 3 weeks before it was supposed to be here).
I hope your PCS goes well- if you are close to a base, see if they offer a Smooth Move program that you can attend- you'll get lots of good info.
If you need any info about anything- the move, Guam, a good hotel, let me know. Would love to say hi when you get here.

When we went to Italy we sold the cars and bought a beater there. Don't worry about the passport situation. For all its "efficiancy" the military is the worst when trying to get things/info/etc!!! I was running around like a crazy person trying to get my no fee passport and Zoe's passport (she was 2 weeks old!!) so we could go to Italy. Complete pain in the ass and constant run around. However, it always seems to work out. Good luck!! xoxo Nina
